The Epistle of Paul The Book of Romans series: Learning to be rooted and established in The Cross of Christ

The Truth of God

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

This verse also refers back to verse 23, which speaks of spiritual and sexual uncleanliness.

An idol is not only made of any form and shape but yet In the day which we live in presently, most don't realize an idol can be anything that is put between us and Jesus.

Sadly, there are some who will worship idols and call it the one true God, this causes a person to go into a belief system of apostasy as Paul mentions here in this verse "Who changed the truth of God into a lie"

The word apostasy means in the Greek: apostasía (aphístēmi, "leave, depart," which is derived from /apó, "away from" and /histémi, "stand") – properly, departure (implying desertion); apostasy – literally, "a leaving, from a previous standing."

Even in the times we live today there are people in the Church are turning away from "The Faith" and believing a lie instead of "The Truth" of the Cross of Christ.

If we look back on verse 24, when Paul says “God also gave them up” because of the condition and the evil that's in the heart of mankind, and the sin that mankind commits deserves eternal punishment.

We as believers must remember never to put anything above or before God and call it Holy, it's because of Jesus that God has given us a way back to Him.

Jesus took the punishment of all sin upon Himself and whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

The modern church today has very little understanding about Sanctification or taking up their Cross each and every day crucifying every aspect about the flesh, Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

When Paul says; "worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator" most people don't take into consideration the word "creature" can also mean men or women to worship someone or something else before God.

In their sin they allow the lust of their hearts to consume them, ignoring the Righteous things of God, even so, would serve the creature rather than the Creator.

Jesus is our blessed hope, if we keep our eyes on Him and not focused on the ways of the world, then we can be rest assured the Lord will bless those who are obedient to Him and His Word.

Even so, as Paul ends this verse "who is blessed forever Amen!"
