The Epistle of Paul The Book of Romans series: Learning to be rooted and established in The Cross of Christ

The Revelation of God

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

When Paul says “for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen.” this is an explanation of verse 19 "being understood by the things that are made" Creation demands a Creator.

Deuteronomy 29:29 says:

"The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law."

The word translated “Godhead” is θειότης theiótēs, thi-ot'-ace which merely means "divinity".

There is only so much of God that one can show from God's creation as we have read in verse 19 in order to know the essence of God as a Triune Deity, one needs to receive His revelation by faith and it must only come by the way of the Cross.

Jesus says in Matthew 11:27

"All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [He] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him]."

God demands worship and rightfully so, no man can come to the Father to worship Him in any capacity unless they come through the Cross of Christ. (John 14:6-7)

God revealed Himself through Jesus at Calvary's Cross and in the His finished work, there can be no other way to even think anyone could please God except it comes through the Cross.

Paul knew that Jesus Christ is the source of all things that we receive from God, the Cross of Christ is the means and the only means by which we receive all theses things, with the Cross of Christ being the means our faith must rest Supremely in this finish work, actually the entirety of the Bible is the story of "Jesus and Him Crucified".

The Holy Spirit who works exclusively within the parameters of the finished work of Christ will then work mightily on our behalf helping us to live the life of victory for which Jesus has paid such a high price! (Romans 8:1-11).

When we see the finished work of the Cross we can truly see the fullness of God's Grace, within the finished work of the Cross, we can truly see the power of God, the divinity, and power of the Godhead.

With all that God has provided to mankind by faith through the Cross there can be no excuses and man is without any defense.
