The Epistle of Paul The Book of Romans series: Learning to be rooted and established in The Cross of Christ

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren

Romans 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

When Paul used the phrase "Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren" we can see in scripture this is what he used often.

"That oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,)" Pual is saying something hindered him.

"That I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles" he knew that his teaching concerning the Cross would help them to grow in Grace,

For the Believer we can see that:

1. God's answer to failing, sinning, dying, lost, wrecked, and destroyed humanity is the Cross of Christ and the Cross alone.

2. Every true move of God will always be accompanied by a call to the Cross, which results in strong preaching and teaching which convicts of sin and calls people to Holiness.

3. Religious men and women always wanted revival without repentance, and above all revival without the Cross, but such is not to be.

In Paul's statement "Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren" is not at all meant to talk down or belittle the Church, this seems to be somewhat of a cliche' used by Pual quite often and actually some six times in his writings (Romans 1:13; 11;25; 1 Corinthians 10:1; 12:1; 1 Corinthians 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 4:13).

And yet the reader must not conclude that this is just a little meaning, in fact, it is the Holy Spirit telling all concerned that He did not want them to be ignorant of the Holy Word of God in any capacity.

The truth is that the Bible is the ONLY revealed "TRUTH" in the world today and fact ever has been.

That's why Jesus said:

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

So every Believer should make the understanding of the Word of God a long-life project, in fact, every believer ought to read the Bible completely through at least once a year.

We all must understand that when all of us stand before the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ, the judging of our motives will all be by and through the Word of God!

The Bible (the Word of Almighty God) is the road map for life, living, and the blueprint for eternity and there is no other as there is no need for another.

Everything that we will ever need the Lord gave it to us which comes by the way of the Cross of Christ and we can find all instruction for Righteous living in the Word of God.
